The Dave Richardson Band
Funky Blues and Soul
Dave Who?

Dave Richardson hails from Down East Maine (Way Down East).  Dave delayed the pursuit of his passion for blues guitar by first obtaining his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.  He then continued on to receive his Master's Degree in Social Work.  Dave has worked as a clinical social worker in specialized foster care, outpatient clinics, schools, hospitals, supported housing/residential programs and outreach programs.

Dave's journey through both academic and professional worlds has provided endless inspiration for playing music.  Working with adolescents, adults and the chronically mentally ill has brought him face to face with the human spirit's basic struggle for survival, meaning and self respect.  Dave has consistently balanced his work with people with his love of the guitar and blues.  Dave has fronted various blues/soul bands including P0ppa G and The Down and Dirty Blues Band.  He hosted the blues jam at Harry's Blues Bar in Hyannis for about 1 1/2 years while contributing to and developing The SoulCats

Dave went on to form the current Dave Richardson Band line up that includes original bass player, Wes James, Marcus Monteiro on sax, Peter Mann on keys and Greg Baker (AKA Poppa G.) on drums.  This combination of musicians is the most diverse, talented and inspirational group on individuals that Dave has had the pleasure of playing with.  Every performance provides an opportunity for a new creative, musical and emotional  journey that will never again be replicated.

Dave had been hosted the Sunday Night Blues Jam at The Onset Bay Blues Cafe for the last five years. Sadly, the Onset Bay Blues Cafe closed November, 2008.  The jam has become a regular hang out for musicians of all types with a passion for great live music.  Professional and amateur musicians have traveled from near and far to share the stage with Dave and the band.   Thankfully, the Sunday Night Blues Jam now continues to live on at The Trowbridge Tavern and Ale House (100 Trowbridge Road, Bourne, MA) and it still runs 7PM to 11PM.
